The 30mm Assault Cannon is a low-damage simple weapon that will fit nearly anywhere. Contrary to the description, it can aim 2° in any direction – though mounting it on a turret is still recommended.

While this simple weapon has little use offensively outside of tiny craft, it excells in a defensive role on ships of any size. Of all of the simple weapons currently available, the 30mm Assault Cannon stands out as exeptional value for performance. Simply attaching one to four 30mm Assault Cannons on a 2 axis turret controled by an Anti-Munitions Defense controller will provide substantial protection from incoming cram shells and missiles. (multiple sets may be required for larger salvos or higher HP targets)
