Defences are systems which actively serve to make a unit get hit less. This can be achieved through two methods:

  • Creating a "barrier" which stops or degrades projectiles passing into it, such as using CIWS, LAMS, or Smoke.
  • Preventing the proper aiming of weapons against the target in the first place, such as using decoys to distract missiles, or ECM to decrease the precision of the enemy's Detection systems.
