After the split from the Steel Empire, the Onyx Watch were in urgent need for new warships – among the many ships they refitted as a stop-gap was The Diamond, a former monster-hunting ship. Replacing some of her boats with more cannons, and part of her cargo hold with more ammo-storage, she was renamed Greenfield and pressed into service against the Deepwater Guard. While still far from a true warship, her speed and size have kept her alive on escort missions since.

Performance[edit | edit source]

As a sailing ship, the speed depends heavily on the wind. It ranges from 9m/s (no wind) to just above 25m/s. The armament consists of 274 32 Pdr Swivel Guns – 135 per broadside, 2 front, 2 back. Armour is mostly wooden, with metal reinforcements at the waterline, around the 2 ammo stores, and the AI. The front and back of the ammo stores are protected only by wood.

If fighting her, consider using fliers (due to complete lack of anti-air weapons), and torpedoes (as the keel consists mostly of wood). If using ships, metal armour is recommended, as her simple weapons have little AP and will do little damage.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

She was initially intended to be called "Diamond" or "The Diamond" (after a song about a whaling ship). However, majyst decided it did not fit Onyx Watch's naming conventions, and proposed naming her after her creator (FourGreenFields).

The original design-request for a "Mighty Man O' War" was the same that led to the Constellation. Both designs were accepted.
