|“||The Marauder is one of the most ubiquitous ships of the Deepwater Guard- and almost certainly the design most seen in a scrapyard. Little more than a floating siege gun, Marauder hulls are often thrown together at the gates of Cold Loch, thrown against the fortifications of the Onyx Watch, and sold for scrap or target practice immediately after carrying back the spoils. It's simply too bulky for most groups to want to keep around. One day, an enterprising shipwright (and incidentally an avid gunsmith) noticed the abundance of half-price Marauder hulls in the yard next door, and thus was born the Jacob's Delight. With two hulls for the price of one, it can be considered something of an improvised battleship, bearing its impressive towering cannons and heavy-duty mortar broadside. Difficulties with perfecting its advanced turrets significantly delayed the appearance of this ship- originally, it was intended to lob explosive shells, but after an accident with the original prototype destroyed the entire shipyard, its turrets were modified to fire solid shot. These days, anyone who can afford decent explosive shells can probably afford a slightly less makeshift craft. Despite the lack of effective ammo, the Jacob's Delight should not be written off: a 330mm shell falling through the roof will still hit pretty hard, and it can lob them up to five kilometers away, making for a very dangerous artillery platform.||„|
