Resource zones[ | ]
The playable section of Neter contains multiple resource zones with various statistics, which can be mined for Materials using Material Gatherers or Oil Drills. The Player starts on the Travelling Garbage Patch resource zone, with it's location depending on the campaign's difficulty. Typos are intentional.
Zone | Initial owner | X | Y | Growth/Second | Growth/Minute | Replenishment Benefit | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Traveling Garbage Patch | Player | ? | ? | 42 | 2520 | 1.6% | This patch of floating garbage is perpetually caught in a circling ocean current that carries it around the Sea of Cordale. From Year to Year you never know where it may be drifting by. |
Eriwick Whirlpool Garbage Patch | DWG | 3 | 0 | 28 | 1680 | 0.8% | Centuries of tidal currents have left trace amounts of natural resources and man-made trash lying around at the bottom of the ocean here. With the right equipment, this dirty job can clean up the ocean and bring a tidy profit. |
Eriwick Outlet | DWG | 6 | 1 | 48 | 2880 | 1.6% | None |
The Lost Forest of Eriwick | DWG | 6 | 3 | 60 | 3600 | 1.6% | Shifting tectonic plates and raising sea levels have centuries ago submerged this once great forest. Now, due to unique minerals in the waters these trees have been preserved and hardened into some of the strongest woods in Neters. |
Lost City of Serenity | DWG | 6 | 6 | 106 | 6360 | 1.6% | This ancient city has long been forgotten by even the history books. No one knows who they were, or where they came from, but it's obvious from the high technology and beautiful sculptures found in these ruins that these people were far more advanced than the other cultures of Neter at the time. Did they all die off, or did they move on to someplace yet undiscovered? |
Fishbone Spring | DWG | 9 | 4 | 68 | 4080 | 1.6% | At the bottom of this spring can be found natural formations and mineral deposits used in building many high technology components. It's also been said to be a great place to go fishing. |
Laguna Island | DWG | 0 | 9 | 88 | 5280 | Laguna Island was historically known for its plentiful lagoons which provided thriving hunting grounds for its wildlife. Nowadays, the pollution from the local Deepwater Guard operations have left them barren of anything but the hardiest, most unappetizing creatures. | |
Sandbanks | DWG | 10 | 1 | 120 | 7200 | 2.4% | None |
Lost Onyx Watch Treasure Fleet | OW | 1 | 3 | 68 | 4080 | 2.4% | An old Onyx Watch treasure fleet set out from Hoffnung carrying an assortment of precious metals, gems, and crystals. The fleet soon encountered a gale, sinking the majority of the fleet. The lost ships, still with valuable cargo onboard, are scattered about the sea floor in this area. |
Icewind Boneyard | OW | 2 | 4 | 76 | 4560 | 1.6% | Jagged rocks and drifting icebergs make this coastline deadly to all but the most experienced of captains. Gusting winds sporadically coming of the Cold Loch will blow ships off course and right into the icy embrace of a rock outcropping or an iceberg. The rusted and rotten remains of hundreds of ships can be found here, along with the shrill cries of those who have passed. |
Captain Nick's Last Request | OW | 4 | 4 | 44 | 2640 | 1.6% | Captain Nick of the SS Intelligence loved this area of the sea so much he requested his ashes be layed to rest in the deep ravines and crystal caves located here. Popular as a tourist destination and deep mining
operations, a stone marker can be located mounted to the sides of the sea cliffs forever marking his final resting place. |
Neecap Cove | OW | 3 | 9 | 70 | 4200 | 1.6% | Located at the edge of a mountain range known as the Giants Neecap this calm and sheltered cove is home to the oldest shipyards in all of Neter, producing historical sailing ships with modern technologies and comforts. Black Power Antiques has called this cove it's home for centuries and takes pride in its historical significance. |
Cold Loch Oil Reserves | OW | 0 | 10 | 83 | 4980 | 1.6% | Though originally a nuisance to Onyx Watch mining operations during the age of sail, the seemingly never-ending trickling supply of oil around the Cold Loch has become vital to the running of the ever-growing castle-ship fleet. |
Throne of Cold Loch | OW | 1 | 7 | 145 | 8700 | 2.4% | None |
Cordela Reef | LH | 12 | 5 | 74 | 4440 | 1.6% | None |
Orhurst Sea Caverns | LH | 15 | 4 | 92 | 5520 | 1.6% | These underground caverns hold great pools of oil; no one knows why so much can be found here, but with the right tool it can be sucked up with ease. |
Orhurst Magma Flows | LH | 14 | 1 | 115 | 6900 | 1.6% | None |
Orhurst Peninsula | LH | 17 | 2 | 78 | 4680 | 1.6% | None |
Quartz Stone Crevice | LH | 15 | 1 | 140 | 8400 | 2.4% | Kilometers deep, this crevice is covered in the world's largest crystals, protruding from the walls like the jagged teeth of a great sea beast. Many of them pulse with light as if somehow alive. Subtle hues of color bounce off the walls illuminating unique sea life that only lives here. |
High Lorham Sandbar | WF | 11 | 8 | 85 | 5100 | 1.9% | None |
Golden Trench | None | 9 | 9 | 275 | 16500 | 2.4% | One of the deepest trenches in the world, the Golden Trench does not have a substantial amount of gold despite its name. It does however have one of the richest exposed ore veins in all of Neter and a plethora of rare crystals growing in the depths. Due to the difficulty of mining at these depths few nations have been able to mine here for long before another nation destroys the facilities and takes over. The signing of the treaty that ended the War of Ashes stipulated that the trench belongs to no one and mining it would be an act of aggresion. |
Siren's Call Forest | WF | 14 | 9 | 88 | 5280 | 1.6% | These ancient trees have long, thin branches waving in the current. These branches are covered in large, leafy seaweed-like leaves that are not only a useful building material, but also excellent in soup if boiled long enough. |
Sorrow's End Whirlpool | None | 10 | 11 | 132 | 7920 | 1.6% | Two opposing currents pass closely at this point causing a massive whirlpool to spiral inwards. The water depression is only a few meters deeper here from this downward force, but many smaller ships and fishing boats have met their end unknowingly crossing too close to this natural phenomenon's edge. Larger ships can safely cross, or even sit in the middle, although the constant spinning motion has made many a sailor lose their lunch into the ocean depths. |
High Lorham Peninsula | WF | 15 | 6 | 88 | 5280 | 1.6% | To this day lava still flows from this active volcanic system. This lava solidifies into the islands you see around you. In this particular area, unusually high amounts of rare resources have been deposited on the ocean floor in these rock hard lava tubes. Mining it is a slow and difficult process, but profitable in the long run. |
Vorpalim Mist | WF | 18 | 8 | 94 | 5640 | 1.6% | The Vorpalim Mist is an ever-present swirling dark cloud that hovers just over this small bay. Many ships stay away from this area as the echoes of eerie shrieks similar to various owls come from the winds here, almost as an omen to the demise of anyone who dares test the fogged waters. Hidden beneath the surface are razor sharp blades of stone that are heavy with high quality metal ores. Ships seeking to mine these ores are often blinded and find their graves as the hulls of their ships are torn open by the deadly, acuminate stones. |
High Lorham | WF | 16 | 7 | 115 | 7500 | 2.4% | None |
Ash Barrens Toxic Run Off | TG | 6 | 10 | 117 | 7020 | 1.6% | None |
Cordale Ocean Inlet | TG | 5 | 11 | 78 | 4680 | 1.6% | None |
Cordale Grand Ocean Reef | TG | 3 | 12 | 95 | 5700 | 1.6% | A treasure in Neter's waters, these coral reefs have been preserved in times of peace and war. The great respect this world has for the reefs is even more impressive when one thinks about the massive amounts of rare natural resources you can find here. |
Cordale Ocean | TG | 1 | 13 | 112 | 6720 | 1.9% | None |
The Stand of Thanatos | TG | 2 | 14 | 138 | 8280 | 1.9% | The Stand of Thanatos is essentially the scrapyard of the Lightning Hoods fleet that assaulted Eris with the Phaylogen X Virus. It is here that Thanatos made a stand against the fleet and sank them all but not without the damage done to Eris. The Remains of dozens of craft lay here in the depths and it is here where Thanatos has made his home point. |
The Armus Caverns | TG | 0 | 16 | 75 | 4500 | 1.6% | These underground caverns hold great pools of oil, no one knows why so much can be found here, but with the right tool it can be sucked up with ease. |
Arkona Ravine | SS | 4 | 15 | 76 | 4560 | 3.2% | Despite there not being a magical presence found to explain regenerating materials that this ravine offers, scientific investigation has also come up short. |
Devil's Cage Swamp | SS | 6 | 14 | 80 | 4800 | 1.6% | These swamps have had centuries of geysers erupting from the ground; the waters carry an unique blend of minerals and heavy amounts of iron. Over time, these geysers begin to form dense iron like stalagmites. These stalagmites, mixed with the eerie dark fog that settles over the area, have lead many suspicious locals to call these swamps the "Devil's Cage". |
Normont Crater | SS | 6 | 15 | 84 | 5040 | 1.6% | Centuries ago Neter's surface was blasted by dense metal meteorites, many can still be found by identifying the distinct half-moon mounds that rim the crash site. Deep below the surface here such a meteorite can be found. It may be hard to extract, but the rare metals are worth the effort. |
Foundry Module Impact Site | None | 1 | 18 | 60 | 3600 | 1.6% | This is the impact site of one of several foundry modules which broke free during the Twin Guard's crash landing upon Neter. Now unable to serve its main purpose, it's now a deep sea scrap site rich in materials to be salvaged. |
Ninjin Beach | SS | 6 | 16 | 85 | 5100 | 1.6% | Ninjin beach was once a popular tourist destination for beach goers and divers due to the large formation of Crystal corals that grew just off the coast. These bio-luminescent, diamond-like coral grew fast and in abundance in the crystal clear waters of the Normont Crater near this specific beach. However, once it became known the value of these crystals for advanced computers and power systems these crystals began to be farmed and harvested here. |
Trident's last Stand | SS | 8 | 16 | 70 | 4200 | 1.6% | This is the wreck site of the Steel Empire's Trident Aircraft Carrier, which was commanded by the Admiral of the 7th Fleet. In a bold night time strike, the Lightning Hoods attacked the carrier when it was heading back to port with no escort destroyers. This attacked marked the final battle between the Steel Empire and the Rebellion's forces; after this the Steel Empire signed a treaty and dissolved into the new Steel Striders. |
Damascus | SS | 7 | 17 | 136 | 8160 | 2.4% | None. |
White Tiger Research Facility | SS | 9 | 17 | 75 | 4500 | 1.6% | After the Devil's Curse fell, a monstrous seismic shock from a comet impact completely destroyed this Steel Striders deep-sea research facility.
According to the logs found by the rescue team, all personnel of the underground complex were completely evacuated to the experimental submarine "Water God", named so by Captain Pakus in honor of the song of the most brutal depth-metal band, then recording their new album right in the pressure chambers of the research center. "Water God' was never found. There is a legend that the submarine will not return to docks until the last track is finished. And when the band picks up their instruments, a storm breaks across the sea. Because this music can rock even the sea! And the more powerful the track, the stronger the "Water God" crew's headbang will become, the higher the waves will grow. |
Fresh Battle Site | GT | 15 | 14 | 96 | 5760 | 1.6% | A recent battle in the Gray Talon territories has left dozens of Scarlet Dawn and Talon ships lying at the bottom of the ocean. Oil still slicks the surface, and smoke pollutes the skies. Collecting and recycling this fleet should be easy. |
Catemoco Trench | GT | 17 | 15 | 84 | 5040 | 1.6% | While not as deep as the Golden Trench, the Catemoco Trench has always been an integral asset to the Gray Talons material economy. The seabed contains resources ranging from volatile gasses for explosive weaponry, up to the most durable of metals for building hulls. |
Nasser Scrapgrounds | GT | 15 | 13 | 108 | 6480 | 1.6% | One of the largest resting zones of destroyed units of old Grey Talons civil wars, the Nasser Scrapgrounds holds plenty of metal that the Tribe of the Rusted Ram repurposes for their modern designs. |
Thol's Respite | GT | 16 | 11 | 114 | 6840 | 1.6% | The final resting place of a gargantuan, ancient skyship, known to the locals as 'Thol.' The site seems to be sacred in some way to the locals, given the large defence force posted above it, ready to fend off any would-be looters. The ship itself bears no resemblance to any known tribe, and seems to have fallen into the sea centuries before even the Crystal Keepers came to power. |
Morgate Raven's Nest | GT | 17 | 13 | 145 | 8700 | 2.4% | Beneath the Ravens nest and under the water of the ocean lies vast deposits of rich minerals easily mined with specialized mining equipment meant for underwater operation. |
Hikari Volcano | SD | 11 | 17 | 188 | 11280 | 2.4% | The nearby island in this area is created by an underwater volcano known as the Hikari. Lava flowing from the Hikari carries high concentrations of rare and valuable minerals. In times long past tribes of islanders would worship the Hikari for her life-giving minerals as they would send divers to collect loose fragments and bring them back to the tribe to be used in everything from effective medicines to potent weapons. |
Foxmere Rock | SD | 13 | 15 | 128 | 7680 | 2.4% | None |
Lost Lover's Sinkhole | SD | 13 | 14 | 66 | 3960 | 1.6% | It is said that hundreds of years ago, two lovers from rival clans had sailed away from their homes to escape the hate and violence. The chief of one of the tribes sent a warship to bring them back. After days of pursuit the warship caught up with the lovers, and they boarded. Rather than be taken back and seperated, the lovers detonated a crate of gunpowder, causing their ship and those aboard to sink to the bottom of the ocean. The moment the wreck touched the sea floor, the ground gave way and both ships were sucked into a sinkhole. Months later mysterious purple crystals began to grow along the walls, marking the site of the lovers' grave. |
Folly of Orbitus | SD | 16 | 18 | 110 | 6600 | 2% | The Scarlet Dawn had attempted to employ a mining laser from orbit to allow the acquisition of materals almost everywhere, and was initially tested here. However, the laser needed to be so powerful that the spacecraft it was mounted on had overloaded and exploded when it was tested. The underwater craters shows its success, but the debris scattered around in space shows its greater failure. |
Karna | None | 17 | 17 | 110 | 6600 | 1.6% | A long-contested site between the Grey Talons and Scarlet Dawn, the area simply known as Karna is now the resting ground of countless war machines of both factions, which only further entices combat for this area. |
Devil's Curse Crater | SD | 12 | 18 | 268 | 16080 | 8.1% | During the Contact War, the Gray Talons had pushed the Scarlet Dawn all the way back to their doorstep. Leading the charge was the legendary Devil's Curse Superdreadnought, a seemingly godlike airship that stood undefeated after dozens of battles and had single-handedly destroyed entire fleets of foes. In an act of desperation, the Scarlet Dawn used one of their largest motherships to push a towed asteroid into Neter's atmosphere and, with astonishing precision, straight into the hull of the Devil's Curse. Many Scarlet Dawn ships were destroyed in the resulting explosion, but the Devil's Curse was obliterated. After this, the Talons withdrew from the battle and the Scarlet Dawn gathered what little remained of their forces and returned to the territory they had claimed. The remains of the Devil's Curse, now little more than charred metal embedded into the ocean floor, stands as both a monument to the war and a valuable source of resources, considering the thousands of tons of precious materials used to construct the Curse and the natural resources upturned from the ground with the asteroid's impact. |
