Ring Shields provide an armour boost to the craft. This boost depends on the sizes of both the ring shield, and the craft. The boost is applied to 1 dimension only, determined by the orientation of the Shield Generator block.

- Shield Generator: The core of the ring shield.
- Ring Pipe: Pipes are used to connect the shield ring into a continuous ring.
- Ring Corner: Corners are used to connect the shield ring into a continuous ring.

When calculating the armour bonus in a direction the ring area of all the shields facing that direction are added together into the total modified ring area.
Power Draw[ | ]
The ring length is the length of Ring Pipes and Ring Corners in metres. Squares lead to the greatest area per ring length.
When ever a component in a ring shield is destroyed the charged energy in the ring will be released as a powerful laser beam with a high amount of attenuation.

Ring shields are most energy-efficient as large, square rings. At time of writing, it is possible to fill an area with pipes, but filling an enclosed area with pipes draws additional power for no gain.
