Simple weapons are exactly what the name suggests, simple. These are perfect starting weapons for new players because they're generally not very expensive, put out decent damage for their price, and have other generally average pros and cons. In general they are average all around, but their biggest downside is that they don't scale up well. While simple weapons are good for primary weapons on a small vehicle and are decent secondary weapons on larger vehicles, a properly made custom weapon will typically outperform a simple weapon in most characteristics.
